I am a passionate believer in the importance of a strong, inclusive public education system that helps all learners reach their potential and develop into respectful, caring and responsible members of society. More than ever, when our environment is flooded with information, misinformation, influencers and AI hallucinations, a strong democracy needs educated critical thinkers.

What I offer.

Experience: I value what our current Board accomplished through challenging times by listening carefully, making difficult decisions when necessary and advocating for the resources students and staff need.

Collaboration: As Chair, I worked with trustees with different life experiences, perspectives and passions. By listening, asking thoughtful questions and finding common ground, we reached decisions centred on students and staff. As a Board we welcomed increased input from students, education partners, families and the public.

Responsible leadership: I bring strong knowledge of governance, policy and responsible stewardship of public resources, with a commitment to informed, student-centred decisions.

Community connections: I am always available to listen. For almost two decades, I have built partnerships that support my work in adult literacy and newcomer programs, creating opportunities and strengthening our community. I am blessed to be connected with so many wonderful people in our community who are both lifelong learners and teachers.

I hope the voters of Maple Ridge will place their trust in me to continue this important work and build on the progress we have made together.
