Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
Mark is an SFU Arts graduate with studies in Psychology of Education and Curricular Instruction. A father of an SD42 student, he is a non-profit president supporting student-athletes and has spent a decade coaching, fundraising and investing in opportunities for young people.

Professionally, Mark has built his career in sales and people leadership, managing diverse teams, significant budgets and complex business relationships. This experience has strengthened his approach to financial accountability, collaboration, strategic planning and making responsible decisions with limited resources.

Mark’s Growing For Good campaign is centred on six priorities: Strong Foundations, Literacy, Numeracy, Safety, Financial Accountability and Career Readiness. He believes students deserve strong fundamental learning, safe and supportive schools, responsible stewardship of public resources, and clear pathways that prepare them for post-secondary education, skilled trades and meaningful careers.

As a parent, community leader and education advocate, Mark wants to bring his experience, collaborative leadership and community-first approach to the SD42 Board of Education—helping ensure every student has the foundation, support and opportunities they need to grow and succeed.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
A decade of coaching, fundraising and supporting youth in our community inspired me to run for SD42 Trustee. I want inclusive schools where every student can discover their strengths and skills, and I’m devoted to building a successful, sustainable future through our youth.
