Andrew Hill: A Life of Service, Community Building, and Equity
Maritimes-raised Andrew Hill is driven by a commitment to equity and community-focused values, making him a natural fit as an NDP candidate. With over 17 years of dedicated service as an NCM in the Canadian Forces, Andrew developed valuable leadership and organizational skills that he now wants to bring to Parliament. From 2005 to 2022, he held various roles within the military, where leadership potential was a key factor in personnel evaluations and promotions.
Andrew also possesses significant experience in contracting and procurement, gained during his time in the armed forces, further enhancing his economic credentials. His commitment to fostering strong, equitable communities is evident through his current role running a veteran peer support group. Additionally, he has spearheaded an initiative to provide necessities to local unhoused individuals and has volunteered for various sporting initiatives such as ParaSport NB and ExploreNB.
Having lived in Charters Settlement for the past five years, Andrew has a deep-rooted connection to New Brunswick that dates back to the beginning of his career in 2005 when he first trained in the region. He cherishes the strong sense of community and the willingness of neighbours to support one another. Andrew's dedication to equity and community-building underpins his every endeavor, driving him to make a positive impact on those around him.
Andrew believes that serving as an NDP candidate will enable him to further advocate for social justice, equitable opportunities, and community well-being. His passion for making a difference, combined with his experience and values, positions him as a strong representative for his community.
On a personal note, Andrew is happily married to Tricia, his high school sweetheart, for 19 and a half years. Together, they have a son named Carter. Andrew's service history comes from a lineage that dates to the Second World War, with both his father and grandfather serving in the Canadian Army. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys gardening, exploring the vast forests of New Brunswick, and is particularly passionate about making maple syrup.
