Last summer, I began knocking on doors throughout Ottawa South. After visiting more than 30,000 residences and hearing from residents and community leaders, the key concerns affecting families, young people, and seniors are the cost of living crisis, high housing prices, excessive taxes, lack of family doctors, community safety, and failures to spend taxpayers’ money wisely. Now is the time for a fresh, new government that can bring the energy and ideas that will turn the tables on our economy.
Our dollar needs to have more purchasing power. As part of the Conservative government, I will work to provide the “Bring It Home” tax cut to help middle-class families, single mothers and fathers, and our younger generation in Ottawa South earn powerful paychecks and save $1,800 per year.
I will work to create a Blue Seal Professional Licensing Standard recognized in Ontario and across all provinces in Canada so that 53,000 foreign-trained doctors and nurses can have a direct pathway to quickly get certified and trained in order to fill shortages and help Canadians desperately in need of care.
I will fight to make our community safer by reversing “catch and release” policies. As a police officer, I have seen firsthand the impact of a soft-on-crime approach. I believe that serious crime needs to be met with a serious response, while at the same time, we need to create a social climate where crime is not seen as the only option for those who are struggling.
It shouldn’t have taken a tariff war with the United States to recognize that our country needs to unlock its true potential. Canadians want a better future. Why should we continue to do what, so obviously, is not working?

Biography
For nearly two decades, my mission has been to serve and protect the communities in which I live. I understand what it means to put duty before self. I served as an infantry reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces before starting my career in policing. I have been a police officer for almost 20 years, spending 15 of those years on the front lines, and I have worked in various investigative units addressing organized crime, human trafficking, and child exploitation.
I grew up in the South Keys, Greenboro, and Hunt Club areas. I attended St. Luke, St. Marguerite d’Youville, and St. Thomas More elementary schools, followed by St. Patrick’s High School. During my childhood, I played competitive hockey and cherish the memories of my time spent at Brian Kilrea Arena in Canterbury and Jim Durrell Arena. I met my wife here in Ottawa, and we have been married for 16 years. We have two wonderful young children who share my love for hockey.
Public service runs in my family. The last Conservative elected in Ottawa South was my father, the late Barry Turner. He won this riding (formerly Ottawa-Carleton) during Brian Mulroney’s significant sweep in 1984, when I was just a year old. I am determined to emulate my father’s success as part of a new generation with the enthusiasm and passion to help improve our country.
I am proud to be part of a team that understands that the government is elected to help people and put their needs first. My whole career has been spent helping people in need. I look forward to continuing to do that in Parliament and serving Ottawa South and this great nation in a way that puts Canadians first!
