Jessy Dhillon is a lifelong Richmond resident, husband, father, youth advocate, and community leader. Richmond isn’t just where Jessy lives, it’s home. It’s the community that raised him, shaped who he became, and gave his family a place to grow, build memories, and call their own.

For years, Jessy has had the privilege of giving back to the community that has given him so much. Through his work in recreation, education, and volunteerism, he has spent countless hours on basketball courts, soccer fields, in school hallways, at community events, and alongside families, coaches, educators, and volunteers.

As a Youth Support Worker at McNair Secondary and coordinator of the Richmond Youth Basketball League, Jessy sees every day how much the little things matter. A safe place for a kid to play. A coach who takes the time to believe in them. A teacher who goes the extra mile. A neighbour who steps up when someone needs a hand. These moments may seem small, but together they are what make a community feel like home.

That is the Richmond Jessy knows and loves the Richmond that looks out for one another, gives young people a chance, and brings neighbours together.

Now, Jessy wants to give back in a bigger way. He is running for City Council because he believes Richmond deserves a voice that is rooted in the community, listens to residents, and cares about the everyday things that make a difference in people’s lives.

For Jessy, this campaign is personal. It’s about giving back to the city that helped shape him, and helping build an even better Richmond for his children, his neighbours, and the generations that come next.
