Biography

With 22 years of Coquitlam roots, for over 20 years, I worked across many B.C. Ministries and public agencies on various initiatives that strengthened public institutions. I have postgrad degrees in political science, international studies & AI Systems.

I am a community advocate and a public sector leader with experience in governance, budgets, technology, and policy. I bring over two decades of Coquitlam roots and twenty-five years of public sector leadership.

My path into community action began in 2007, when my child’s school, Vanier Elementary, was at risk of closing. I joined community members and fought hard to save it. Though the school ultimately closed, that experience changed me. It showed me how important it is for residents to be heard before decisions are made. It sparked my lifelong commitment to transparent, community- centred leadership.

i have worked across several B.C. ministries and public agencies including RCMP leading inclusion and belonging initiatives that strengthened public institutions.

My work with the B.C. Lottery Corporation, Fraser Health, the University of the Fraser Valley, and Surrey RCMP helped advance equity, accountability, and public trust.

i am also one of the few certified AI Systems Management and Auditing professionals in North America. As cities adopt digital tools, data systems, and automation, this expertise ensures Coquitlam can innovate safely, ethically and transparently. I am a co-founder of B.C.-based Inclusive AI Foundation, a nonprofit focused on ensuring technology serves people, and not the other way around.

For the last twenty two years I have called Coquitlam home. I lives near Mundy Park with my husband, son and my gorgeous husky Juno.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
Coquitlam needs to go smarter, not simply larger. The city needs new leadership and not more of the same of last 16 years. True leadership is not about maintaining a status quo. It is about delivering change for better with communities placed squarely first. I bring that change.
