Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
Hi, I’m Liam MacDougall, a first-year student studying Environment & Society and Political Science at St. Thomas University in Fredericton. You may recognize me from my provincial run in Albert-Riverview in 2024!

My grandparents and father’s side of the family are both from the Keswick Ridge area in the riding. Growing up spending time in Tobique-Mactaquac has made me realize that I want to represent its voice for affordable housing, climate action, environmental protection, fair taxation, electoral reform, and keeping Canada secure. My vision of government is one that puts people before profits and corporate welfare. On top of this, I firmly believe that Tobique-Mactaquac can play a vital role in standing up for Canada by increasing Canadian self-reliance through manufacturing and agriculture. As your Green MP, I will put the people of Tobique-Mactaquac above the interests of large corporations and political parties.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
After my first campaign, I knew I had to step up once again to give voters a chance to deliver green principles to Ottawa, including sustainability, non-violence, social justice, ecological wisdom, respect for diversity, and participatory democracy.

I hear from many young people that they feel disenfranchised by politics. Being a young myself, I want to show that politics IS a place for young people to have representation and a voice. It is never too early to stand up for what you believe in.
