Canada is under threats. Trade threats, cyber threats, criminal threats, environmental threats, and so on. The perpetrators of these are closer than ever, even within our own borders. My goal is to protect Canada, be it from wild fires or enemy states. We are blessed with many natural resources that bad entities are now colluding to steal from us or that Mother Nature with take from us with fire and flood. We need to protect ourselves from all threats like we never have before.
Biography
I am a common man, a blue-collar worker that spent most of his career as a drafter, but now I'm semi-retired and driving a shuttle bus two times a week. I'm here to be a tough politician, one that believes in standards rather than sponsorships, one that knows what it's like to stand on the corner and wait for the bus every day while smelling car exhaust, one that sees what is going on in the world and says, "No, that's enough."
I am running with the Green Party of Canada because it's the only party with a true face value, a clean environment. While I stand firm and say that oil has its place, alternative energies have come a long way and the practicality of them is inarguable. The Green Party is also humanitarian. No one should feel threatened anywhere based on their creed, race, orientation... just for being who they are. The Green Party is tough. There is no way it's going to let Canada's sovereignty be sold. The Green Party sees far, and although no candidate sees eye to eye with every policy and proposal, the following are my beliefs that run closely with the Green Party.
The drug use in many of our city's streets is rampant and legalization of hard drugs just made it worse. In Richmond there are no safe shoot up sites and the streets are clean. Hats off to Richmond! For other cities and their overflow into Richmond, I believe the humanity for society outweighs the humanity for the addicts on the streets. Arrest the public users for the crimes they commit and identify what the individual needs. If they only need a home, get them into a housing. If they want to do drugs, do like other countries where they'll ship people out of the city to a remote area and let them do all the drugs they want, just keep them out of the city. If they are violent and/or criminally bent, then prison. If they are so far gone with brain damage then put them in an institution. Save the city streets and downtown areas for responsible citizens and tourists.
About dealing with the U.S., in full disclosure I am a dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada, and I've lived in Canada since 2019. I know Americans well and what I say now is we, Canada, need to defend ourselves. I'm not pro war, but pro defense. I do believe we need up our defense spending to 2% as NATO recommends. Economically, the tariff talk is a wake-up call to de-globalize to a degree that makes us less dependent on trade but still allows us to maintain trusted trade allies, i.e. not the U.S. The concept of less globalization encompasses more than just trade.
Immigration needs to be reformed. The requirements and vetting for international student visas need to be tightened. Birthright citizenship is an outdated concept that is leaving Canada vulnerable to immigrants that don't contribute to our GDP. Contrarily, we need to expedite getting doctors, nurses, and other medical staff that were educated in other countries to practice here.
At large, Canada is beautiful country with a lot to protect, especially is environmental resources. Through defense, loyalty to democracy and freedom, and good Canadian cooperation between parties, allies, and each other we will defend our country and thrive.
