Cashton Perry is the Communist Party of Canada candidate for Ottawa Centre and the Organizer for the Young Communist League in Ottawa.
Cashton, a recent welding graduate from Algonquin College and a young worker himself, has been deeply impacted by the crises facing Ottawa’s working class and youth. From soaring tuition and cuts to education, transit, and social services to stagnant wages and job insecurity, he actively engages in the struggle to advance working-class interests on all fronts. Ottawa Centre has a candidate committed to a working-class vision: fighting privatization, expanding healthcare, and securing a livable minimum wage for Canadians.
Cashton is running for the first time as a federal election candidate. He has been politically active in progressive movements since 2021, including the peace and solidarity movement with the Ottawa Peace Council, fighting to put Canada on a path to peace instead of further militarization.
