They may still in the future!
Biography
Kyle has been a Burlington resident since 2002, settling in the Brant Hills community after many years moving around the GTA. His family instilled the values of hard work and empathy in him from a young age, and the importance of giving back to the community that raised him. This is what drew him to become deeply passionate about local democracy as soon as he could vote.
After years as a volunteer in local politics, Kyle found himself enmeshed in the climate action community, committing himself to furthering a positive agenda of cleaning and protecting our planet. He also developed an interest in how to better Canada’s democracy, becoming an advocate for shifting to proportional representation and increasing voter engagement.
In 2019, Kyle joined the Green Party of Canada because he believes in supporting true progressive ideals in an age of growing cynicism and apathy. Kyle has also demonstrated against Doug Ford’s attempted farmland land grabs, in support of real climate and poverty action, to defend his LGBTQ+ friends and neighbours from the hate peddled by an expanding authoritarian movement and a number of other causes.
Kyle currently sits as a member of the Green Party of Ontario’s Provincial Executive, and has been involved in successful pushes to end the Green Party’s opposition to nuclear power generation. He has also successfully authored party resolutions to support Ukraine’s right to self-defence and codified support for trans rights into party policy. Whatever the campaign, Kyle believes in standing up for what is right and will have the most positive impact on the people sharing the world with him.
He has run three times before at the provincial level in Burlington and Milton, and currently works as an organizer for a non-profit dedicated to supporting environmental campaigns across Canada.
