Hi, I’m Candace Koch, and I’m proud to be running for Mission City Council because I believe we need change and a different direction at City Hall.

I’ve called Mission home for 14 years and raised my family here. I’m invested in this community. I’ve worked in the trades as a red seal automotive technician, operated a small business and now work in marketing.

For the past 13 years, I’ve served and volunteered my time in our community, supporting local schools, Steelhead Community Hall, Dyslexia BC and other organizations.

I’ve also worked on projects that brought provincial funding for early literacy in our schools and a major high speed internet project to North Mission. I was honored to receive a 2025 Path and Pathfinders Women of Mission Award for Community Service.

I’ve spent years attending Council and budget meetings, public hearings and presenting delegations. I understand that decisions made at City Hall affect real people, their families, homes and businesses.

Everyone is feeling the financial pressures of rising costs. People are working hard, but it’s getting harder to get ahead. We’re seeing businesses leave, people struggling to afford to stay in their homes, and opportunities being lost.

My focus is simple: get the basics right first and focus on what matters to residents. Spend tax dollars responsibly, keep our neighbourhoods safe and build a strong local economy that welcomes business.

Transparency and accountability can’t just be election buzz words. They have to be actions.

I’m ready to ask the hard questions, listen, continue to do the work and be a strong voice for the people of Mission. I look forward to meeting many of you over the next four weeks and hearing what matters most to you.
