In 1993 a young man fresh out of university drove across his country and fell in love with Canada; not because she was perfect but because she was worth defending. Concurrently, back home in St Catharines a federal election was called. A fledgling party called the Christian Heritage Party clearly represented his pro-life, profamily values, so he threw his hat in the ring. 32 years later that young man has become the father of 9 children, 9 grandchildren, a business owner, a municipal councillor and one-term mayor. 8 election runs later he still holds true to that principled party, the CHP. “Canada does not have money problems, we have moral problems. The need to represent justice and truth in the public square is as urgent today as it was in 1993” says Dave. Canada was founded on principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law is derivative. Rejection of God has undone much of the good that grew out of those principles. The CHP offers hope for their restoration.
