Businesses & Jobs

Economic Growth

Grow our commercial and industrial tax base by attracting business, so homeowners are not carrying the City's needs on their own.
Deliver more than 800 jobs in Moody Centre, with shops, offices and services at street level so people can work in Port Moody and not only sleep here.

Climate Change, Heat, Fires, & the Environment

Green Space

Plant hundreds of trees in Moody Centre to reach 30 percent tree canopy across the new development sites.
Bring Slaughterhouse Creek back above ground along Spring Street, with the creekside protected as public park and a path beside it.

Zoning

Put density near the SkyTrain station, and only allow added height in exchange for real amenities like a grocery store, daycare and a bridge to the waterfront.

Community Centres, Libraries, Parks, and Other Public Spaces

Community Centres

Rebuild Kyle Centre.

Fitness & Sports Facilities

Finish the new field house, now under construction.

Culture & Events

Cultural Spaces & Venues

Establish an Arts and Business Council for Port Moody.

Housing & Homelessness

Housing Accessibility

Make seniors housing a top priority, for seniors downsizing into market housing and for those who need affordable seniors housing.

Housing Prices & Supply

Support moderate growth: density near SkyTrain, with townhomes, low-rise and infill housing allowed throughout the rest of the city.

Property Taxes

Look for revenue and savings before cutting core services, so we can keep bringing tax increases down.

Public & Assistive Housing

Keep getting affordable housing built through our inclusionary zoning policies, our updated bonus density program and our ACC program.

Rent & Rental Stock

Deliver the 865 approved Moody Centre rental homes, 44 of them below market, the most new rental Port Moody has approved at once in decades.

Zoning

Put density near the SkyTrain station, and only allow added height in exchange for real amenities like a grocery store, daycare and a bridge to the waterfront.

Local Government, Planning, & Democracy

Budgeting

Do a line-by-line review of the city budget so every dollar goes where it matters most and core services stay protected.
Plan for asset lifecycle and renewal costs so the City can maintain the infrastructure and facilities residents depend on.

Good Governance

Keep a council that works together on one shared strategic plan, revisited every year and followed through.

Public Engagement

Keep making decisions together, in public, with my door open to any resident who wants to sit down.

Public Safety & Policing

Police Funding

Protect funding for police and fire as core services residents rely on.

Victim Safety and Support

Win back provincial funding for 60 units of transition housing for women and children leaving violence in Moody Centre.

Public Services

Childcare

Complete the civic daycare facility.
Deliver 107 new childcare spaces in Moody Centre, where young families will be living.

Roads, Transit, & Getting Around

Roads

Widen the Barnet and Ioco bridge first, then add a rush-hour lane on St. Johns, so the new lane does not just move the problem down the road.
Build a real corridor vision for St. Johns, including Phase 2 completion, instead of another band-aid.

Sidewalks & Bike Paths

Keep extending the multi-use path on St. Johns.

Transit Projects

Keep the Shoreline Shuttle running and the e-bike and e-scooter program in place.
